Encrypted, secure video conferencing

Cisco Webex is one of the platforms that can be considered as a secure solution for law firms and courts thanks to its end-to-end encryption and server locations in the EU. The Norwegian software company Pexip also offers a secure communication environment for this sector with its video conferencing software Pexip Virtual Courts. The solution can be hosted both on-premise and via the cloud. Integration into existing video conferencing systems from Poly, Cisco or Lifesize, for example, is just as easy as video participation from any device - such as a laptop, PC or smartphone.

Hearings and witness interviews by video
Prior to 2020, video hearings were only used sporadically or in exceptional cases, e.g. to protect witnesses from meeting the accused or to spare children in custody disputes the mental influence of their parents.
Such hearings are either recorded in advance and played back during the trial, or take place simultaneously at a different location and are transmitted live via video.
Professional video conferencing equipment is required to implement such scenarios in the best possible way. While a simple PC with a webcam may be sufficient for the witnesses, a good audio solution and displays are needed in the courtroom in addition to video conferencing cameras in order to present the witnesses visually.

Hybrid court hearings
